NATURAL OCCURRENCE
There are only a few natural occurrences of bog oak left in the world. Our company can supply dried bog oak in industrial-scale volumes. The development of deposits is carried out in compliance with all necessary environmental standards without causing damage to the environment.
EXTRACTION PROCESS
The extraction of bog oak is an expensive and labour-intensive process. To get 100 cubic metres of sound material, we need to raise at least 1,000 m³ of wood from the bottom.
Several years pass from the moment of extraction to the sale, and this requires large investments. First, we carry out a survey at the bottom to determine the location of the wood. Then, divers examine the bottom and determine the exact number of logs. After this, we start to raise the wood from the bottom of the river. This requires special equipment, since some trunks are large and cannot be raised by crane.
Logs raised from the bottom are immediately sent for sawing. This must be done as quickly as possible, since the quality of the material decreases when exposed to air. The wood is cut using special equipment with carbide elements. After that, the wood is stacked and sent for drying. In some cases, to get an acceptable level of humidity, it needs to stay in a ventilated area for 2 to 4 years. The wood is then graded and can be used for a variety of purposes.
The technology of wood extraction and processing is complex, so we carefully control every stage.
